The WordPress Easy Updates Manager Plugin
If your updates typically go well, meaning when you click “Update All Plugins” and “Update Theme” and the site continues to behave, it might be time to install a plugin that updates your WordPress site automatically. Easy Updates Manager does a great job and allows you to chose what you do and do not want to update, e.g. if you have certain plugins that are very complicated and integral to your website’s function, e.g. WooCommerce. The plugin can also send you email when it has made updates so you can quickly review your website and make sure it is behaving as you expect. If you do use an automatic updater plugin for WordPress, it is strongly recommended that you run frequent backups of your website, preferably automatic backups, so that you may revert quickly to an old version if there are any issues.
